The Hunt Brothers Pizza is a pizza place in Broomsfield, a town in eastern Oregon that’s been home to a group of hunters since the 1960s.
Owner Brian Hunt and his family, which includes his wife and four children, say they’ve been open for more than a decade.
But it’s not easy to get pizza there.
“I can’t say that it’s easy because we have to do a lot of the work ourselves,” Hunt said.
“We’ve done a lot, and we’ve made a lot.”
Hunt says the biggest challenge is the size of the space.
He and his wife, Mary, have lived in the area for more, and the store has a big window on the second floor.
Mary Hunt said she thinks the pizza places are a little cramped.
“You don’t want to sit on the couch, but it’s good,” she said.
But the family says they’ve had enough of being on the sidelines.
They want to open a second location that has a larger space, and to be able to open at any time.
They’re not planning to keep a third location closed, but they are planning to have a full-service restaurant for the holidays.
“It’s a really good opportunity,” Mary Hunt added.
“When you see a place like ours that’s just sitting there with a big space, it just gets you frustrated.”
A new location for the Hunt Brothers is a challenge Brian Hunt said he’s having a hard time getting people to come to Broomfields pizzeria.
“If you’re like, ‘Hey, Brian, I love pie and I want to try it out,’ I’ll be fine with it,” he said.
Brian Hunt says his family is getting more complaints about the location.
“But people do like the pizzas,” he explained.
“So I guess they’re not complaining about it.”
Hunt’s family has had the Hunt brothers in Broome County for over a century.
Brian said he grew up in Brooming County, so he knows the history of the place.
But, like many of his neighbors, Brian is not a huge fan of the pizza place.
“There’s a lot about it that I don’t like,” he admitted.
“That’s not the kind of thing that I go out of my way to like.
I think it’s a little cheesy.”
The Hunt brothers are a family who have been out hunting for generations.
“A lot of us have hunted, we have hunted in some shape or form,” Brian said.
He said his family hunts in a variety of areas, but he’s not one of them.
“The Hunt brothers have been in Broomy County, and that’s where I got my start,” he continued.
“Our dad was a fisherman, and he’d hunt there all the time, and my mother and I would get together and go hunting, too.
We just hunted in that way.
But I’m a hunter now.
I’m going to be a hunter and go hunt for myself, too.”
Brian Hunt is not the only family who is frustrated with the current state of Broomfords pizza.
“They’re going to need to get better and better, and they’re going of course to be working very hard on getting better,” said Mary Hunt.
“For my dad and his kids, and their kids, to be in a place where you have to sit there for five hours, it’s just too much.”
Brian said the Hunt family is just working on getting the location up and running.
“Everybody is working on it, we’re working on the pizza, we’ve got a full service restaurant, and all the rest is coming,” he added.
Mary said her family is looking forward to opening the Hunt Bros. restaurant sometime in the future.
“Hopefully, one day, we can open it and get people coming in,” she explained.
The Hunt Bros., located at 1575 West Valley Drive, is open every day from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Friday.
