Capri Pizza is coming to Chicago, and it will be headed to the South Side of the city.
The pizzeria will be opening on Saturday, May 3, at the former home of the legendary Capri restaurant chain.
Capri Pizza, owned by Italian restaurateur Carlo Tommaso, will be located at the corner of North Wabash and Illinois, just north of the Beltway.
Papa Murphy’s, the other Capri chain, will also be opening Saturday, and its menu will include pizza, salads, sandwiches, wraps, sandwiches and entrees.
Capri is expected to be more upscale, but the location will have a bar.
Chicagoans will also get a chance to sample the pizza, which is served with a fresh, crusty, and smoky sauce.
It’s available for pre-order for $12 and will be available at Capri locations all over the city, including on Chicago’s South Side.
In addition to the Capri and Papa Murphy locations, Papa Murphy will also open a new Chicago-themed restaurant, The Pizza Bar, at a former warehouse on the West Side.
The bar is expected on Saturday.
Papa has opened a pizza restaurant in Rome, Italy, and in Los Angeles, California, in January of 2018.
