Mario Balotelli has been confirmed as the captain of the Italy squad for the forthcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Estonia and Romania, the club has announced.
The 22-year-old is also in line for his second senior cap with the team, having made his debut against Sweden in March 2017.
Italy face Estonia in Turin on March 29.
The team is coached by former Italy international Fabio Cannavaro, who will be hoping to build on his impressive 2016 World Cup campaign.
Italy, who lost in the quarter-finals of the tournament to eventual winners Germany, have been without a win in three games since the turn of the year.
