Posted October 06, 2018 09:22:54 A New York-based restaurant chain that has been expanding since the 1980s and which has been dubbed the “Italian Pizza Mafia” is back, this time with the addition of a new addition to its lineup.
According to a post on the Capri Pizzeria Facebook page, the New York City based pizza shop is bringing back its iconic pizza, but with a new flavor called “Emporio.”
The post states, “This is Capri pizza.
Emporios pizza is fresh, hand-made, and never made with chemicals, pesticides, or MSG.
It’s a family favorite.
We are proud to bring back Emporios to Capri and all of the Capres that have come before.
Thank you to our loyal Capri customers for all your loyalty and support over the years.
Emporios is Capris’ new name, which is a tribute to Empoli, the legendary Italian city of Sicily, according to the post.
Capri is Italian for “city.”
Emporo is a play on Emporos and Piazza.
Capri is one of the few pizzerias that serves Capri, which dates back to 1894.
The restaurant has been serving Capri to the public since 2006.
In addition to Capris, the post includes Capri’s other original Pizza menu items, like the Emporia salad and the Empolis pizza.
The post has been shared nearly 2,000 times since being posted on Oct. 6.
The Capri menu has also been featured on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and on NBC’s late-night talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live.
According the post, Empolos Pizza has been available at the Capris for a number of years.
It is now open to the general public.
